In collaboration with the Doherty Institute, the University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, 3DMEDiTech has produced the world’s most effective 3D printed nasopharyngeal swab (patent pending).

Our device is among the most successful 3D Printed COVID testing projects in the world.

The trial was conducted at The Royal Melbourne Hospital Staff Clinic and the results were published recently in the Medical Journal of Australia.

The kits include a 3D printed sterile nasopharyngeal swab, viral transport medium and a bio- hazard bag all packaged ready for use. The Kit is registered on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG).

The company is currently contracted to produce 10% of the 10 million swabs in the Australian Government’s National Stockpile.

3DMeditech has also designed the world’s first 3D printed saliva swab for rapid testing during the pandemic. The company has worked directly with the Victorian Infectious Diseases Research Laboratory (VIDRL) in perfecting the saliva swab design.
